Darling View Thoroughbreds topped the Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale on Friday when paying $240,000 for Pierro mare Sous La Terre.

Offered by Tyreel Stud (as agent), Sous La Terre is a half-sister to the dam of Champion Australian 3YO Filly Sunlight (Zoustar) and she was sold in foal to Spirit Of Boom.  Her first foal Terrestar (Zoustar) has won at Sandown Lakeside and Canterbury Park for Team Hawkes.

Darling View Stud Manager Brent Atwell rated Sous La Terre (pictured) as his favourite mare in the Sale.  “I spent more than planned but it’s a massive pedigree and she’s a really nice type, so we’re very happy to get her.”

Atwell also pointed out there’s plenty of updates coming through with the mare’s 2yo half-sister Clean Energy (Zoustar) a very impressive winner on debut at Warwick Farm last week for Yulong Investments.

“I was looking for a mare to go to Ozzmosis and Sous La Terre will be the one.  He’s obviously a really good horse and I wanted to send a mare to him in his first season.”

Ozzmosis (Zoustar) retires to Newgate Farm and will be introduced to breeders at a $44,000 (inc GST) fee on the back of a Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) victory at Flemington in November.

Darling View also parted with $110,000 for Mica Lil (Testa Rossa) who won four races in WA before transferring east where she was Group 1 placed in the 2018 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.

Mica Lil was sold in foal to Hellbent who is off to a flyer at stud alongside his own sire I Am Invincible at Yarraman Park.  His first crop is led by G1 All Aged Stakes winner Magic Time and Saturday’s G1 The Goodwood winner Benedetta.

Riverside Stables saw four days of Inglis Sales this week with WA buyers spending $1.5 million (Foals) and $1.36 million (Broodmares).
