Econsul (NZ) moved from Woodside Park to Darling View Stud earlier this year.  He stands at the Mundijong nursery for a $4,400 (inc gst) service fee.

Woodside Park kept a winning connection to Econsul after he transferred to Western Australia.  The stud’s staff race Alternative Choice and he repaid their faith with a brilliant debut victory at Kilmore last Tuesday.

Alternative Choice made up many lengths in the straight to win running away in the Phoebe Festival Maiden (1100m).  Woodside owner Mark Rowsthorn heads the syndicate that includes general manager Murray Tillett, stud manager Gerard Jones and pre-trainer Matty Upton.

Tillett managed Perth Magic Millions before the Woodside appointment and he negotiated the Econsul deal in April.

Alternative Choice is a very good horse in the making,” he said.  “There are lots more Econsul winners in the pipeline and that will help get him established in Western Australia.”

Econsul (Pins) stands at Darling View Stud which is owned and operated by Clive Atwell and his son Brent.   They also stand Exceed And Excel’s three-quarter brother Patronize (Redoute’s Choice).
