Darling View Thoroughbreds topped the Perth Magic Millions Winter Sale on Sunday paying $52,000 to Peters Investments for Royal Dream.
A 3yo filly by Bernardini, she is the second foal G1 WA Derby winner Dreamaway (More Than Ready) from a family that has generated black-type for Bob and Sandra Peters going back to their 1996 VRC Cantala Stakes winner Miss Margaret (Marscay).
Royal Dream is unraced after two short preps with Grant & Alana Williams last year.
Darling View stallion Lucky Street topped the foal section of the Winter Sale with his first-crop fillies from Top Show ($30,000) and Foo Foo the Snoo ($25,000) purchased by Trevor Andrews and David Harrison respectively. Top Show (Stratum) was a juvenile winner in Perth for Neville Parnham as was Foo Foo The Snoo (Starcraft) with Lindsey Smith. The latter filly received an important update earlier this month when her older half-brother Financial Support (Patronize) won first-up at Belmont after a year on the sidelines.
Lucky Street (Oratorio) was a precocious colt blitzing the 2015 Magic Millions 2YO Classic, LR Perth Stakes and G2 Karrakatta Plate by a combined 10 lengths before retiring to Darling View Thoroughbreds. “He’s got what breeders look for in spades,” manager Brent Atwell said. “He’s by a Champion 2YO sire and was a Champion 2YO in his own right.”
